Behavioural/Obedience - "We decided to use Happy Tails Training after having problems with our JRT Jackson as he became food aggressive almost overnight and we had some issues relating to his obedience and house training issues, after I had received 2 recommendations about Happy Tails dog training through colleagues we decided to ‘take the plunge’ and go ahead. Sharon came round and assessed Jackson and discussed with us everything that had/was happening and she gave us no end of support in training Jackson, Sharon was reassuring and gave us the confidence back to enjoy our JRT and for Jackson to enjoy us also!Jackson is a changed man and so are we, we now know how to manage or very energetic JRT and also how to keep him under control but still happy. Sharon advised us on the correct food as it appears he’s been getting the wrong type of food in his diet, consequently his behaviour is more relaxed and less erratic, it has also assisted with an on going ear problem that comes and goes. Jackson is no longer food aggressive and have seen no signs of aggression since being given the direction and help from Sharon.Jackson has also learnt some new commands which I would have never of thought we would have been able to do as I always thought the expression ‘you cant teach and old dog new tricks’ was as it says it is, but Sharon proved this expression wrong, we are now going to continue with the methods that Sharon has taught and advised us on and who knows the possibilities are endless. Dog Walking/Obedience/General Care - "We have two Cocker Spaniels and two French Bulldogs. Four dogs together were becoming a bit of a handful, chewing things, jumping on people, running away when the gate was left open and pulling on the leads. Being in full time employment it has been difficult giving the right exercise to them all and we were delighted to find out about Happy Tails Dog Training. Sharon came to visit us, took notes about each of the dogs and listened to the problems we were experiencing. First impressions are important and Sharon came over very professional, kind, caring and knowledgeable. Now that the dogs are getting regular exercise and training they have calmed down so much. The chewing has stopped, the jumping up has improved and they are generally much better behaved. They all love Sharon and get so excited when her car pulls up outside the house and the dogs absolutely adore her. Sharon explains her walks to us and advises us on any areas that a particular dog may need training on. Sharon is also a qualified Veterinary Nurse which was very helpful after the two female dogs were spayed recently and she does daily health checks on all the dogs and informs us of any problems. Behavioural - "My husband Steve and I, adopted two dogs from a family who had to return to Britain. We didn't know anything much of their history, except Sami was a nine-year-old Maltese and Rosie was an 18-month old mongrel. But as soon as we set eyes on the pair of them, it was instant love...on our parts at least. When we took them home to our apartment the troubles began. We had complaints from the neighbours about the constant barking and when we took them for walks Rosie would go berserk at anything she saw, whether it was a truck, a man or a woman. But her biggest reaction came when she saw either a small child or another dog. Then, she was uncontrollable. I looked on the internet for suggestions and tried everything, even paying out 160 euros for a citronella collar but nothing worked. There was no way that Steve and I were going to give up on the dogs but our nerves were frayed to say the least. Then I was given Sharons' telephone number. And all our lives changed. We started training straight away and honestly within a matter of days, our Rosie was a different dog. She still had her problems but with Sharon's help, all our lives became happier. Only grouse that I have...I am still perplexed as to what it is about Sharon that is different from us lesser mortals. As soon as she walked through the door, the dogs instantly calmed down. Behavioural/Obedience/Dog Walking - "Our puppy was about 5 months old when we took him in, he'd been found abandoned up in the mountains. We had no control over him, obviously he had never had regular walks or a home life and would jump on everything from the sofa to the kitchen counter tops, pull the cushions off the sofa, the pillows off the bed and if we left him home alone he would cry and bark so after 2 weeks of complaints from our neighbours we were desperate for help. A friend highly recommended Sharon so I rang her. The first time she saw our puppy there was instant respect from him towards her. Just the little, quiet commands, noises and movements she used she definately had control but also our puppy looked like he was enjoying his training. We learnt so much from Sharon which we carried on inbetween our lessons. When we look back we can laugh and cant believe how naughty he was. Thanks to Sharons' patience and expertise he is now a fantastic, affectionate and well behaved dog. We cant imagine being without him but only for Sharon I think we would have given up on him. Sharon still helps us out by walking him twice a week and taking him for some extra playtime and its nice to know she is always on the other end of the phone to give advice. Behavioural - "I have 2 unrelated Jack Russell Terriers who arrived with me on the island a few years ago as pups. One came from a breeder in the UK and the other from a Dog Refuge. Through Sharons' diagnosis this was one of the roots of the problem as the dog from the refuge had no social skills! In the UK they were absolutely fine until we moved to Tenerife and so far they have run away, destroyed a neighbours property, chewed their way out of a dog kennel and have started to fight to the point that one of them almost died. So stumbling upon Sharon was an absolute god send. Sharon, the boys and myself have worked together on numerous occasions and without her calming influence and simple management techniques I have no idea what we would have done.
